Imperial City Solutions takes parts from first scan through to finished production. The work covers 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD design, custom tooling and end-use parts, manufactured in the material the job calls for.
WHY WE STARTED
We design and solve problems from a technician's perspective, not the original engineer's.
The person who has to service a thing almost always finds a quicker, easier or more efficient way of getting the job done than the person who originally drew it. They are the ones with their hands on it, week after week, and they notice what the drawing never accounted for. That knowledge is real and it is everywhere, and it usually goes nowhere. It stays a workaround, or a tool somebody made once out of whatever was lying around.
Those little ideas are worth more than that. The point of this business is to take them and turn them into actual tools and actual parts: the thing that should exist, made properly, in a material that will survive the job. These are the problems that get left unsolved, and we intend to change that.
The team
One team across design and production
The team shares a background across repair, tooling and additive manufacture, and a habit of pulling things apart to see why they failed. That is the lens the work gets designed through: not what is easiest to draw, but what the person holding it actually needs it to do.
The people who model a part are the people who manufacture it. Nothing is handed across a gap where the detail goes missing, and nobody is defending a decision somebody else made two weeks earlier.

Imperial City Solutions is a Canadian company with Canadian staff, and the parts are manufactured here in Sarnia, Ontario. Nothing is sent offshore to be made and shipped back.
That matters more than it used to. Domestic manufacturing is how a small order stays a small order instead of a minimum container, and how a replacement part arrives in days rather than clearing customs. We take work from anywhere in Canada, coast to coast, and the finished parts ship from Sarnia.
How we work
The part picks the material
With a wide catalogue to draw on, the choice is made on what the part has to survive: load, temperature, chemical exposure, how much it has to flex. You see the reasoning, not just the recommendation.
Drawings that answer their own questions
Dimensioned and toleranced, with material and finish called out. A drawing that sends a shop back with questions is not finished.
We would rather find a solution
We do not turn work away for being small or awkward, and we do not hand back a list of reasons it cannot be done. If there is a way through, that is what you will get back.
Dates you can plan around
Lead times are quoted as what we can actually hold. If a date moves, you hear it the day it moves, not the week it was due.
